Ignition switch

the rod just lays on top and runs from the key tumbler gear down to push/pull the switch.

if you just drop the setup like i posted you will find it all real easy.

I just went through this a few months ago and I think I posted pics...let me see if I can find them....mine had a broken "actuator" which is what that rod attaches to...

Don't know if these will help or not....at any rate...it's not fun and if it is a broken actuator you might as well tighten down those tilt bolts if you have a tilt wheel....maybe replace turn signal stuff too...

thus, why the first thing i always do is pull the slide switch off the column to verify whether the issue is in the column or not...

takes 5 minutes with a 1/4 drive ratchet, an extension, and, iirc, 5/16 socket.. without dropping the column... as opposed to the time it takes to dig into the column... just scribe/marker a mark to locate it, as it is adjustable...

I'm gonna check the switch under the dash instead of pulling the wheel back off again. Seems easier and simpler to do the column switch instead.
