IL/Southnern WI PEOPLE SPEAK UP

You're probably thinking of that 'rodeo' they have in Millston for ATVs every year. (park is in between a couple bars if you can imagine such a thing! EWG!) They're also a hop-skip & a good $art from Black River State forest (known for it's ATV trails & (with snow!!) their snowmobile trails).
added: Think my above post read wrong.. I'm just south of Milston! & yes, ATV/Snowmobile trails are there in/around the State forest. Not aware of anything formal for 4x4s.
Not having either, not too familiar with it, but happy to check it out. I think they have a brochure on it and next time i stumble across one, would be happy to mail one to ya. (PM if you take me up on that - [email protected]).
From your profile, it appears you're interested in the ATV side of things!

I'm in IL too... near Woodfield Mall... about 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. Sounds like there might be a few folks in my area!

That would be sweet to meet some more CK5 folks! I have met OUTLAW before, but no one else in the area.

Near Kankakee, IL. And yes I go to attica. I like it and yes there's not much else close. But maybe soon I'll venture a little farther.

Mendon IL, here, just outside of Quincy, 300 miles southwest of Chicago. Private land is about it around here, too. We do have some roads that still have never even seen gravel, so they're fun after a good rain. Some friends of mine have a 27 acre camp that we used to play on all the time, but it's been a while. It's nothing but hills and timber and mud holes. The hills around here aren't big of course, but they're steep. When I get back to where I can do some serious wheelin I'll have to see if they'd be interested in hosting a weekend outing. If things go well, I'll have some land to play on before too long myself.

thanks for the links...the first one looks like it might be really helpful. i def had no idea that there were that many trials and parks in the area (or at least decent places for a weekend trip).

Im from Morton, IL (right next to Peoria) and I do most of my wheeling in Missouri. There isnt much around here thats fun or challenging. I hope to make a run to Attica soon. There are still a few guys that are from IL that havent spoken up yet. LittleJimmy, BlazerBoy, Bigmeats, maybe a few others.

I am from Champaign, IL. We have a few places to go, but mostly private property. Attica I heard was good, now if my 10 bolt wouldn't have taken a dump I would have been there.

Roads? Where we're going, we don't need any roads!
If it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all!!

Did they ever build that Yellow trail there for fullsizes? They mentioned it on their page awhile ago, but dont see any updates on it yet.

Nope Fullsize trail got the Ax. Reason being in the beginning there was TONS of intrest now there is none. But like i said it doesn't really matter cause unless you running anything other then a blazer your not really considered fullsize to the BADLANDS. I ran a bit of the yellow trail in my explorer and swaped my stuff many times BIG HOLES

What exactly is the rock quarry all about, is it like a rock crawling area, or just a rock pit? I thought they had some sand dunes too, but sand gets old after a while.

The quary is kinda just a big open area. There are some places to test your crawling skillz. there are a few trails in there but not much.

You are also right there is SAND lots of sand, but nothing to exciting. Around summer time i will try to get a group together to go out there. By then i should have my truck done.

Just remember is your driving a pick up your not getting in you have to be UNDER 107" wheel base@!

Dont know how far you are from the MI border, but there are the Silver Lake Sand Dunes just north of Muskegon. About 3 hours from the border.

I have met people from Chicago there. And I think they say it takes about 3.4 to 4 hours to get there.

Good time there.
