I'll just have to.....

my snapon guy told me if working in cold get std batterys.

and the std battery kit tools get 2 batterys.

if you get lithium battery one you get only 1 for same price.

by 1/2" impact sofar works well. taken every thing off i have used it on basicly. and battery life good. also charge complete in under 50 min basicly.

well, I have the original 18volt.. it's getting pretty battered, I've actually almost worn thru the contacts, that the bat slips into... i really can't bitch, it's still going after 12, 13 yrs after numerous bilge douchings.....

I actually run the adapter to run the new batteries.. which I've been happy with..... the old bats sucked...

so the ion's are interchangable with anything that takes the newer slip-in battery? what about the chargers, I noticed the ion one is red.. they interchangable?

outta the snappie loop these days...

so my black ctc420 charger wont do the ions... tho the ion charger is at least sanely priced..

but holy hand-grenades, $220 for an ion battery! :doah::haha:

the small impact driver is a great drill, so is the drill just to the right of it in the picture. You can get both in one kit, with batteries and chargers. It was in the high $200s last time I looked. Great drills

I got one of the intro packs with the 1/2" hammer drill and the impact driver, 2 18v LI batteries, and a charger, all for $199. So far very happy with it. And remodeling on 3 houses (my new one, my son's, and our old now a rental), it's come in very handy. I hate battery tools, but these are great. They hold charge for an amazing time, and I've yet to have one run completely down.

Where did you find this for $199!? Thats the kit i've wanted, that comes in a hard case.

It was just reduced from $329 to 269 at home cheapo.

They had a Makita display setup with rep at the local Home Depot about 3 months back. It was a special deal. Just that weekend, or maybe just that day. There was a pallet with maybe 30 of the 2-tool cases. They also had another similar with the smaller white versions.

The Makita 18 Li-Ion is the cats ass. Get a kit with 2 batteries or when the battery goes dead you have a spendy paperweight. In a side by side comparo at work with a snappy 3/8ths to the makita 3/8ths, snappy loses. It's heavier, way way more money to match the deals out there, has no more power (they are close though) and the power to battery life thing means that with the standard battery the snappy has all the power it has fresh from the charger. L-I powered tools have full power for a longer period of time, I mean the tool won't lose until the battery is almost dead.

To be clear, nobody at work has the snappy with a L-I battery, just the standard one.

I got the kit with the recip saw, impact, drill, and flashlight w/ 2 batts and charger for a wedding present in 07.

Best gift ive ever received!

It works like a champ, great battery life, and the batts hold a charge for a good while too

My wife got me the 2 piece white makita setup 4 years ago for valentines day:woot:

I beat the piss out of those things and they just keep going. The little impact will take the lug nuts off of her civic with no problem. I use it to put lugs back on too just so I don't have to drag the air hose out there. I use the drill for 95% of my drilling needs, only bust out the corded dewalt when I have a bunch o'holes to make:D

The makita set is awesome. I know a few people with them. But it is true that if you leave the lithium ions in a cold area, the batteries will be dead. Guys at work got them and leave all the tools in the vans, and the lithiums are always dead in the morning (during the winter). Idk if you would have trouble with the cold. Theirs are milwaukee, but im sure a lithium is a lithium. And the lithium milwaukee chargers do work with the old style batteries, but the old style chargers will not charge the lithiums.
