Yah so I was workin' on replacing the rear cab mounts/lower rail and kinda did more harm than good...brother is not a happy camper! <kick self> :doah:

the doors still work, but....

Anyone done this? Shall I finish the beginning of the photograhical story (writeup)? Dependent on whether he ever lets me touch the truck again, of course...

whoops!

I have damaged a cab or two myself by using the wrong method of lifting it!..I learned to use a 2x12 board with eye bolts under the roof to attach the hoist cables or chains too,and to leave the doors on and closed while lifting--(I still sqiushed the doors slightly on my truck, even with the board as a "load spreader")...

Dont feel bad--my brother and I ruined a nice Mazda "club cab" pickup while doing a cab swap(putting his good cab on a frame that was rust free, his was swiss cheese)...it buckled right in half when we lifted it with the backhoe!--and we had just yanked off the rusted one off the "doner" truck with NO problem whatsoever :doah: --my brother saw red,and smashed the truck flat with the backhoe, until it was 2ft high :eek1: --a waste of 700 bucks for both trucks, and a LOT of labor and time! :tongue1: :frown1:

weird i did the same thing and carried it around my dads shop on a fork lift like that no problem/ no dents or anyting. i used a 4'' wide strap though that might of made a difference

i was using the crane to try to pull the trashed mount out of the bottom of the body...the other one came right out...this one didn't :doah:

:frown1: oo gotcha. ya all that pulling would do that. i couldnt get the ones out of mine and had to cut them via sawzall and big ass grinder. looked like a burnout contest. sucks cuz the 2 inch body lift was new but the bolts werent :frown1:

Funny you mentioned the burnout contest...care to post the vid or sumthin', brother?

There was a lighting storm outside while we were workin' on it, and he was viddin' it with me doing a burnout on my old boggers with my dodge.

ya got to go through this windo and with a wide strap,
