I\'m back too!

First off thanks for the membership, I'll do what I can to help ya'll out.

Second for my diesel updates:
1993 K2500 cummins swap: Long story short I was trying to make the motor sit 2.5" too low in the chassis and had major front axle clearance issues. Found this out AFTER I had installed a 6.2 into the truck. I forgot to measure crankshaft centerline to crossmember before I pulled the 6.5TD. Cut twice measure once /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif?
Bet I was way closer to it fitting than I thought. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Traded that truck in on a '98 Dodge Ram Quad cab short box with 12V cummins. Got totalled 4 days later. I did manage to buy it back from the insurance with a scrap title.

Today: Brought home my latest, and newest, truck. A 2000 Chevy crewcab 4x4 SRW Silverado. It has 6.5TD/4L80E. All black, matches our black '99 S-blazer and black '91 suburban.

Also have picked up a 1971 unimog with a 4 cylinder diesel.

Sounds like you haven't had the best of luck lately, but the new truck sounds cool. Hopefully someone doesn't total that one anytime soon!!

I'll post a pic of the new truck as soon as I can.

Gonna take the unimog out for a run in the snow today. That thing can really go thru the stuff. Slow down the road but great in the woods. The front locker needs to be looked at some time, not working. One nice thing is I can maintain about 70-80psi with the on board air compressor.

Almost had two firsts with the unimog today.
Almost got it stuck in 2.5' of snow and almost laid it over on its side /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif. Must have had the back tire a good 1 foot+ off the ground.

Got any pics of the mog? I'd save all my pennies and get a mog if parts could be had at the local junk yard. I think they are the only Euro vehicle I have ever liked.

Anyway didn't like seing knowledgeable people disapear because of the membership.
Now you got me drooling over what you acquired.
I love mogs and GM 1ton crewcab 4x4's but i will be combining mine.
I have the crew cab and I am going to put mog axles on it.
