That suck AJ. There are plenty of trail only regs that guys bash around here cause we too have very tighttrails. I really killed my old fullsize bronco on one but that's ok cause it is a Ford

I would go the white knight route... a buddy of mine went this rout and is very happy w/ it. Also you could talk to realsquash cause last I heard he was working on a 94-ish or so S10 w/ a BBC... I really want to see that rig when he is done

and you all wonder why my truck doesnt go off road?
I will NOT be the one to post that my truck is basically totalled after going off-roading, sorry guys, but I just have to much time and money invested in it to basically wipe it out for one day of fun.
after all, that's why hubby has his own truck!

Well Mudnurl... I try to use good judgement. If the trails are tight for jeeps there is no way I'm fitting so I back off. If it looks like damage is very probabile by attempting something then I will bow down to the winch cable gods in defeat I guess. Of course I'm not of pure offroading blood I guess... I have more Drag racing type Blood I guess

You aren't alone Mikey - I cringe at the sight of extreme trail carnage. Too much desert and dunes in my blood

Heck Kid, why don't you just buy a mountain bike and ride it, that would surely get you through those "Tite" trails.

Nasty, nasty

I understand where he's coming from. After putting all that effort and $$ into a rig who wants to trash it?

... but when wheeling it happens sometimes.

I did some damage this spring and it sucks

I just wanna thank you AJ, for putting another thot in my already full brain! All the way to work I was thinking how easy it would be to pick up a cheap 2WD S10, and use the coil pockets for a custom 3 or 4 link front suspension, a SBC fits nicely in there. Go w/ an xtra cab and you could use a 2WD tranny and a divorced NP 205, and and and...........

I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but dont give up on the K5, its not just a ride, it a way of life!

I get all the excercise I need pushing my luck!

Where's the sport in trying to fit between two trees with a rig that's too wide? May as well go to the mall and watch fat women try on stretch pants. The incline and the terrain are the real challenge. I seem to remember a certain Four Wheeler article commenting on an "immaculate 90 Blazer" attempting a difficult obstacle at Moab. We all know that particular K5 is not babied. But, if those particular trails are the ones you like to go on most, downsizing would be practical.

when you ahve ot drive up a tree to get between them then its tight and i did 4 times put it n it sides between 1 set of them then used the winch to drag it between any way Steve thats what i was thinking but i would build 4.3 liter i can find a wrecked 4x4 pretty cheap from my uncles shop but inever thgouth of 2 wheel idea for the coils i was think of doing coils anyway that would be easyer

The advantage of using 2WD is the spring pockets would already be there. Then get a D44 from and early Bronco and most all should line up. It would take some checking but these are ideas on the fly kinda thing. Then get a Tcase w/ the left side front out put and your in business! Too bad its really not that easy tho!!

Just a few random thots floating around my melon! (insert sarcastic voice here) Thanx again for something else to think about, I really needed that!
