I\'m excited about a 5 speed

A guy I sold some parts to a couple years back called tonight and said he had an NV4500 5spd tranny and a T-case out of a 1996 Chevy 1-ton 4x4. He wants to sell it, and I want to buy it.

What T-case came behind those? Its a drivers side front yoke. NP241?

Re: I\'m excited about a 5 speed

i believe so.
they might be a 32 spline input tcase. not sure if the pattern is the same as the pass drop 208/241

Re: I\'m excited about a 5 speed

Yes, the NV4500 is a 32 spline output with the round 6 bolt adaptor and likely a 241. A passenger drop 208 will bolt right up as long as it has a 32 spline input gear, same with the passenger drop 241's.

NP241 was only used in 88-91 IFS 1-tons AFAIK. Should be a BW4401 (pickup) or a BW4470 (high GVW C&C). Most likely a fixed yoke unless it was a regular cab longbox.

Umm what about the 243(electric shift 241)? If thats behind it let me know, I might be intrested.

I have a newer style 205 T-case with the round pattern and 32 spline input. Time to start scheming how to make the two bolt together. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Depending on what the T-case is, I'll probably just re-sell it.
