skip the big ricey choppy cam .
just toss in a pete jackson reg gear drive set .
i did this years ago and every one asked me what did i have under the hood of that truck .
and bbc cam swaps from stock almost always = valve springs .
You can build a big block to sound great and still have incredible bottom end! It's all about the combination of parts. The truck in my avatar will literally blow the 37's up from a dead stop idle. I've built a few like this with great results, but it's not gonna happen with peanut port heads. Grumpy's is a great resource for the BBC, just remember that most of his stuff is geared towards race car stuff.
Is that the case? Why would you want to kill low end torque on a BBC ?...especially in a heavy truck...it'll make city driving a pain, you'll foul plugs, and get 4 mpg..
I'd leave it as is and just turn in the carb mixture screws till it lean misfires at idle,no one will know it doesn't have a hot cam ..
