She is everything I've wanted. :D Sorry for the big pictures, my mind is fried from philosophy class today.

I had to find a replacement for my yota that I burned up. So she's a 78' cheyenne/bonanza? 350/465/205. She is really clean for her age.

The best things I like about it, and don't laugh.
1. gas gauge works
2.rear window is manuel, not power.
3. gas gauge works
4. very little rust
5. radio works
6. Has ac and cruise control.
edit- 7. gas gauge works
I even set a record of buying the truck and getting it tagged in less than 2 hours! A rare thing in our county.

On a side note, Hey 70jimmy, wanna meet me at the autozone next time?:thumb:. I seem to run into him all the time in the most unexpected places.

Dam I'm glad it's almost the weekend. College makes my neurons cry.

The ultimate goal with this one is just to simply enjoy it. I really have no intentions of modding this one or lifting it. Mainly it's going to be my DD this winter and come spring I want to fix the rust and get it looking nice.

Basically it just needs a few body panels and a fresh coat of paint. I love how the interior is so nice looking compared to my welded, stripped, metal floor in my 87.

My biggest challenge is keeping the clutch alive and it should be real interesting. It's been quite a while since I drove a standard.

Pretty swett old girl you got there..the SM465 is a definate plus!..
I like the maroon color,my 82 GMC is that color, like a giant cranberry..fits in well around here with all the bogs..

I've seen many a GM truck of that vintage, but never saw heater controls there before factory!..unless its some aftermarket heater/ac setup,I'd say thats one of a kind maybe?..

Is that an after market cruise control, too?

Nice looking truck. Congrats

I HAVE A '87 K5(350TBI/SM465/NP208) AND I GET TOLD EVERY NOW AND THAN THE 465's ARE HARD TO FIND IN K5's. I DID HAVE THE STOCK 305 MOTOR IN IT BUT IT'S SEEN ITS LAST DAYS AND SINCE IVE HAD THE 350 PUT IN IT RUNS GREAT...JUST NEED DIFF & LIFT UPGRADES NOW...

AND I GET TOLD EVERY NOW AND THAN THE 465's ARE HARD TO FIND IN K5's.

That is my understanding. However I've been waiting 9 years to get another m/t vehicle. The fact that I found this blazer with the 465 is uncommon to say the least in this area.(Pueblo County) I'm extremely happy I have it now though. :pimp:

As far as the heater control thing on the dash goes, I have no friggin idea on what it's about. It has a cruise control switch on the blinker lever but I haven't tried it.

I had to order a set of duratracs for it today as one tire started leaking air from the sidewall so bleh another 750 spent. From what I see the only things I need for it are - windshield, rear view mirror, speedo cable, and see why the oil pressure and temp gauge don't work. Anyways here's some more pic's.

Both look like an aftermarket add-on. I think JCW sold (or still sells) something simillar to that CC setup.

Yup.aftermarket A/C controls, and pump,brackets..thats why I never saw A/C controls like those before..up here ones without A/C are pretty common, you dont really need A/C like you do HEAT up here!..2-3 weeks a year I wish I had it,then its just a waste of money for freon, and all the other things that keep it from working right..

Yeah I looked it over today. It's going to need a bit more work than I thought but nothing really major. One of the spark plug boots is resting on the header and it's melted. The carb need's rebuilt and I want to replace the 70's distributor on it. Overall I think it just needs some basic maintence like replacing seal's, bearing's and gasket's. It really needs a bath to get the nasty black stuff off the bottom.

Oh, NICE Shadowwalker! I was hoping that K5 would go to a good home. I’ve been watching it on CL for a few weeks and had just emailed a buddy in Michigan that was looking for one, I just hadn’t made it out to the county to look at it. The price seemed decent enough too.

Actually, manual trans K5's weren't that uncommon around here. My dad had several buddies that I recall had manual trans K5s and trucks back in the 70's and 80's.

I only have one request, please don’t hack it up to make a truggy, fuggy or whatever else so many people do to ruin old K5s on this site .

Congrats!

This one somehow slipped under my radar. I didn't even see it until after I had called on a couple of ford's. No I won't hack her up. She is going to get me through the winter then come spring I want to get her looking good. No lift, no nothing. She is staying stock.

I'm not driving my shortbed dodge this winter. That dam thing goes sideways more than straight.

All the documentation that came with it. I need to name her. Cranky? I did not realize the passenger front seat was referred to as an "auxiliary seat". :D

Are you sure it is fulltime 4x4? I’ve only seen but a couple manual trans K5’s (or even trucks for that matter) with a SM465 mated to a 203 fulltime tcase and they were always older than a 78. The shifter stick and yellow knob factory Spicer hubs leave me to believe it is a part time 205 tcase.

WOW! On April 27th he got 10 MPG with it! :haha:
