I'm Moving !!!! - A Cross-Country Adventure!!!

Re: I\'m Moving !!!! - A Cross-Country Adventure!!!

Now we get into talking about prices of houses varying from the locations. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

When we build our home, in the future, it will be at least 3000 sq. ft., complete with a basement. I will build my 1500 sq. ft. shop, too. We are looking at approximately $80,000 to build everything ourselves. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Can you say...."brand new home"? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: I\'m Moving !!!! - A Cross-Country Adventure!!!

Just sell your truck & you have a down payment for a place in AZ.

Re: I\'m Moving !!!! - A Cross-Country Adventure!!!

Hey, nobody told me a tube bender was moving to New Hampshire.

Apparently it's coming with some guy named Greg ;-)

John
Just another guy with bender-envy

Re: I\'m Moving !!!! - A Cross-Country Adventure!!!

John,

Yep, A bender...a MIG welder....and whatever else I can fit into the moving truck!

I've got to make sure that 220V hookups are part of the search criteria with the real estate agent! I seem to be looking at a lot of 200-year-old farmhouses....decent sized properties, nice big house, and YES......."New MAN SPACE"!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There's something about an old 2-story barn converted into a garage that says "Hey, moving to New Hampshire might not be such a bad idea after all!"....

Give me a few weeks to get unpacked and set up and then you can start hitting me up for rollcages, tubing benders and rock sliders!!! I'll be happy to help.

Re: I\'m Moving !!!! - A Cross-Country Adventure!!!

congrats on the move. Since you wont be passing down south i dont guess you'll need need a place to crash.
around here theres a guy that owns a 3 car hauler to haul from here to missouri for like 500 bucks and gas, maybe theres someone out there.
look in your thrifty nickle.

Re: I\'m Moving !!!! - A Cross-Country Adventure!!!

LOL- I agree, my "Man Space" is a two-story barn, behind a 150 yr old house. I'm stocked with predominately woodworking tools, but have recently been enhancing my steel fabricating collection.

Anyway, I love the house and the barn, unfortunately the back half of the barn is unusable. But oh, the potential!

I knew this was the house to buy when I saw the barn, fortunately my wife loved the house :-)

My bro-in-law was recently in the market in the Keene area and my mother-in-law just bought up there, both in Westmoreland. I remember one property he looked at was a smallish 3 br farmhouse, barn and 85 acres listed at $225k

Good luck with the move and let me know if you need any help on this end.

John

Re: I\'m Moving !!!! - A Cross-Country Adventure!!!

Hi Neighbor (insert big Dan Aykroyd grin here) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'm just a stones throw from Keene. Look for my Jimmy in need of some paint when you get here. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: I\'m Moving !!!! - A Cross-Country Adventure!!!

well this will not help you any but I to am about to make the BIG move back home to Ohio from N.Idaho but I am waiting till May to do it so the roads will be clear because my wife will be driving the k-5 and pulling the boat while I drive my big truck(snap-on tool truck) with all of our things in the rigs. The only thing I can say is that you should try and get rid of what ever you can before you go and buy what ever you need when you get there. I have started to list what ever I dont "have" to keep on e-bay and have been doing very well at it. Look at it this way if you get rid of what ever you can before you leave it lightens your load, saves on gas,and pays for your trip to get the rest of your stuff there. so if you have the free time I would start listing right away. hope this helps...and let me know what you decide to do so I can take some tips from your trip
