I'm working on an 84 k-5 with the 6.2 diesel. The tailgate window only works intermittently. I've got 2 used motors and I taken both apart for cleaning and oiling. The window goes up and down fine with my drill but when I hook up either motor it will go up or down a little way then stop. if I wait a few seconds it will start again with out me doing anything. It stops at random points and for random intervals. It always struggles in the middle. I've bypassed everything to the point that I'm jumping it with straight wires and a fresh car battery. What gives? is there some kind of switch in the motor. Has any one rebuilt on of these? It isn't worth paying the $100 for a new one to me. Any suggestions?

Have you changed/checked the switch? A buddy of mine had a switch that was corroded inside and wouldn't let all the juice flow through it.
