I\'m new to the 6.2 world, need a torque spec please

Hi guys, I'm changing the harmonic balancer this afternoon, and I don't have a book yet. Can somebody look up the torque spec on the bolts for me? Thanks!

85 and previous 150 ft/lbs. 86 up is 200 ft/lbs.

That's according to my Chiltons.

Thanks Rene. I keep forgetting I'm a member of the diesel page /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif. Went over there and printed a list. It lists 140-162 and 200(85+)

Here's one for ya, why is it called a torsional dampener on a diesel, and a harmonic balancer on a gasser?

Easier to get harmony from a symphonic firing of gas engines?

Hard to dampen a cluster bomb of detonation?

Could be because the ignition pulses on a diesel are so much stronger. There are 8 'acceleration events' per rpm that are quite a bit more extreme than a gas engine...so torsional damper seems apt. Most people call it a harmonic balancer anyways though. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
