But if you had the choice between a 05 d-max and allison 2500HD
@36,724.57 (all the goodies i want)
and a 05 dodge CTD 5 speed auto 2500
@38,000(est. with all the goodies)? :D

Someone on here just bought a new Dodge Quad cab dually CTD for like 35K with the employee pricing going on. Thats the way I would go.

Even though I own a '95 CTD, Of those two trucks, I'd go with the D-Max. The Allison has alot goin for it, and the D-Max is cheap/easy to bomb.

For me the dream truck would be the loaded to the hilt with every option available, '04-'05 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 CTD dually 6 spd quadcab in Black. Just like the one that someone got with the employee discount.

im biased..... Dodge.
I would not get an auto though. if you want an auto and a cummins wait till 07 and get the supposed 6 speed auto.

otherwise, get the 6 speed manual. i love my 04.5 3500 short box 2wd. it stickered out at 42k and i picked it up for 36k out the door. 22k later, i LOVE it. click the link in my sig to see it. in that setup i weigh in at 30k and have NO problems up hill. a little slower up the hills, but thats expected with that much weight. i still pull faster than the semi's.

We have 3 D maxs love every one of them. Would never even consider a dodge.

Dmax, and just for the record, dodge doesnt have a 5-speed auto strong enough to back the Cummins, it is still a 4-speed.

I struggled with this same.....well almost same issue about 3 months ago. Only reason I wanted the D-Max was the chassis, don't really care for the motor. Only reason I didn't want the CTD was the chassis, but the motor ROCKS! So CTD it was, the "quad cab" sucks after having a GM "crew cab" but I think I made the right choice. Look used your a sucker (as I was) if you buy one new. I need to move down by you, the price for a D-Max crew 4x4 here is about 45-50K and the CTDs are about 40K......

My 05 Dmax/Ally ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Talk about a TowRig!
YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

In reality all of the Big 3 ROCK!
I am very inpressed with my rig while in Tow/Haul mode. I have yet to find a grade or hill that can slow down my rig while towing...AWSOME!!

There are two - 2005 Crew Cabs at a local dealer here in OK. Both are loaded except for leather. The employee pricing is $32K for one and $34K for the other. List on both is over $42K... Wonder how much I could get trading in my 02 2500HD with the 6.0 ltr???

Dodge, all the way!!!! :saweet:

I love my CTD QuadCab. I also have the 4 speed and am very impressed with it so far, especially in tow mode.

Just spent a boat load of money on the "new" rig so it stops like the Allison equipt. trucks though. :doah:
