So I'm on my third socket, last one was custom ordered at Autozone. They are all too small. Can someone please check theirs for a part number? I'd like to get a cheap one for like $15 if I can.

Thanks

I've been staring at this for the last 3 days

You better get you but down to your nearest Kragen auto parts store, the powerbuilt tools are 50% off right now and they sell that socket there.

You might be the first person I have met that preferred autozone to napa, but they are going to be around 50 bucks at napa.

Use a long punch with a hammer, tap lightly ;)

I bought one from autozone for less than 20 if I remember right.

Um NO, I just replaced a couple that had that treatment...use the socket. if you have to buy a couple sets of those nuts, the socket will pay for itself!

Invest in a good socket. It'll save you a headache later. When dealing with the spanner style sockets, cheap steal bends. If you will rarely use it than go cheap. I bent the prongs on my 14bolt socket the first time.

Hope this helps. The prongs are supported. Makes for trouble free use. Time after time.

I'll probably go with the napa part unless they don't have it in stock. I do like the supported prong style of your part, but I don't want to wait any longer.

I have two. A Snap On one and a home made one I machined. I agree, buy a good one.

I bought a Lisle socket from a local part house, it held up to 160lb/ft, when assembling them. Not sure how much was on them when I took them apart, but I think bubba used a screwdriver, and hammer. The pins on the inner nut weren't lined up with the holes in the washer. Dumbass.

I just was able to find this thread: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173612&highlight=spindle+socket&page=2

It mentions Napa part#775-9027

I hate Napa Auto Parts (prefer Autozone myself, but if that is the right one, I'll go for it)

Wrong part #!!!!!! I bought that same one last week. That is a six prong socket, not the 4 prong you need. I bought Napa part #3246 and it worked, but it didn't feel like it was seating correctly, I had to have it sit just right in order to get a good bite.

It was $52!

I paid 27$ for the Lisle part, with lifetime warranty.

Well the pictures shows it as 4-pronged, here is the picture from the napa website, and its $25.

775-9025 is the 6-lug version

This one is 3246:

Maybe my napa is retarded. I'm not sure how they could have pulled off that kind of screw up.

Success!!!

Napa part#775-9027 was it and here she is (fits perfectly). It was the different "inner tab?" style than what was pictured on their website. After taxes around $27

I like the OTC 7158, it has the ring around the outside of the 4 prongs. It stays aligned better and it is stronger.
