Dont know why im posting, maybe just to vent but my pinion in my 10 bolt let go yesturday and now i dont have a car..even my camaros down for a valve guide falling out(dont ask)

Well 3 weeks ago i was at the local u-pull it junkyard and they had 7 14 bolt FF trucks SRW...

...so i throught, no big deal i will go get one of those, fixed price of $52.95 for entire assebly. went there 3 time this week, All gone...crushed. No 8 lugs, no 6 lugs there except for one 14bolt ff with 4:10s...but someone already yanked the right axle shaft out so its useless(could find FF axle shafts anywhere online, appereantly they dont break and thus dont need to be replaced)

I called 5 other junk yards and the prices for a 14bolt FF were $500 to $1600!!! and the cheapest 6 lug 10b was $300.
Why are they sooo expensive at a junk yard but yet soo cheap on here? and why is know one on ck5 from florida lol grrrr

what is the going rate on a 14bolt FF and non FF in your opinons?

Too bad you weren't closer , or don't have another ride . Axles are all over here . Buddy paid 100 bucks for a 14 bff at a yard , my 12 was at an expensive yard and still less than 150 . They are plentiful except for d60's , they know how bad guys want those . I bet if you could come over , or if someone was heading your way , you could get one today .

Have you called the yards up in St. Augustine ?? Can't remember the name, but by the St. John's river there's a big one I went to with my brother in law last time I was in the area.

Are in San Antonio because if you are I have a friend that has a sf 14 bolt 8 lug rear end with 4.10 gears and a 14 bolt ff with 4.10 also. From San Antonio it is only 45 minutes to his house.

No, SA is home, but FL is school. But i do have friends there, but i dont know how i would get it here.
I dont think i would be in the position if i was in texas/colorado/cali...oh well

I have a 14 bolt FF with 3.73's in Kingsville, TX. I'm sure it doesnt help but its 3 hours south of San Antonio and I go by there everyonce in awhile. If you're interested in working something out PM me.

14 ff go for 300 in yards here

to me that is real expensive

i cant give over 150 for one, if i really super badly needed it that is,,

and 10 bolts and such, well they better be real cheap, like 50 bucks tops

but i would never buy a 10 bolt

good luck

Did you try www.car-part.com ???

I just picked one up for $100...with new leaf springs.
Personally...$150 is my limit on a 14bff.

To bad you're not close...I have one with 3.73's...
I'd let go for $150...it's sandblasted...ready to install. :D
