lol, been busy with life. Still got my 84 Blazer, just maintain and keeping it on the road.

Question, guy has a 1986 Dodge W150. Yea I know but can't find chevy trucks around here, they all have more rust then metal.

Dodge seems good shape 318cid, auto, 4x4.

Gonna drive and check it better in day or so. Anything specific to look for?

Most of the underneath stuff is the same, often even the same manufacturers

Makes sure the radiator isn’t plugged, no oil in the coolant. Leaks

Ok figured as much, didn't know any dodge specific areas to look for, ill fluids, etc

Think the power steering fluid and trans fluid type is different spec than GM

Far as I knew 1980's Dodge trucks used Saginaw P/S pumps much like GM's back then, and used the same fluid, either P/S fluid or Dexron II ATF..
Later models probably use something different..

Nothing "wrong" with a Dodge W series of that vintage really--as noted they use New Process transfer cases and the older 3 speed Torque-Flite automatics were more durable than any of the newer overdrives..they held up as good as any GM truck did of the same vintage..

One thing about Mopars,is their engines seem to always have a ton of rust in the blocks and can cause issues with overheating ,water pump failure early,etc--seen many that had what looked like brown vomit come out when they were flushed out,and some needed a radiator or head gasket after using "radiator flush".like the rust was the only thing keeping it sealed up....of course this was on vehicles that didn't get regular flushings and coolant changes (90% of whats on the road !).

We had one old 318 at work that had antifreeze get in the oil,we tore it down to put in a head gasket and found there was rust pits that ate all the way into one cylinder..
