On what to buy on payday which is tomarrow. I have several different things i can buy but i need some opinions.
1. buy a tube bender/ parts for my yellow truck to get it running
2. buy parts for the burb, ord x-member + 1" BL + poly body mounts + mohave heater other small stuff
3. replace radiator/fix tranny on my 66
4. buy tools, welder sawzall etc etc, Pawn shop is loaded with cheap tools.
Damn decisions..

You need to buy tools, especially a tube bender. A tube bender will change your life.... seriously. I have a ton of tools and nothing says I'm serious about wheelin like buying a tube bender. You'll also be surprised how many "friends" it makes you. But "friends" are fun to barter with. Any I can tell by how many rigs you have and buy posting what to spend your paycheck on that you're a man who enjoys the barter system. :D

However, shortly after buying a bender you'll be buying a notcher. Chop saw can only do so much. But thats what the next paycheck is for right?!

The bender can bend you a cage AND make you money. :deal:

With the money you make you can then either buy more tools or parts for your rig. :D

Welder

It's so nice to have your own

option 1 then to 4.These are the tools I like the most. Its a good knowledge to have over many others.Welding and bending that is.

Now thats funny, right after i was done reading some back articles on tube benders and peoples opinions on different one's i came across a tube notcher by accident and now i want one. :haha: Yeah i like to barter allthough i didnt barter for any of the trucks i currently have, i just got real lucky and had cash in the bank when i found em.

But yeah ive been thinking really hard on spending a couple of paychecks on tools cause im at a point where i need certain tools to complete what i have going on now. I still need to get a sawzall and some other things. I might pick up a bench drill press for $50 at a local pawn shop. I love pawn shops.

well i would say that you need a sawzall for sure- cant get by without that one. The I would think a welder before the bender, otherwise you have a pile of tube that you can't put together

i have a small wire fed welder from harbor frieght that i mainly use for exhuast work and once i have the bender i was planning on buying some cheap tube from lowe's or someplace so i can practice bending it. That and i want to make a mock up cage before i try to mess with the actual tube i need. I have a friend that has a nice stick welder and i have another friend that has a nice miller so.

I dont think they sell any tube at lowes, just pipe. (theres a difference). I'm addicted to buying tools. I always look at stuff thinkin "hmm what kind of tool can I buy that might make this easier". You know you've got a problem when you are trying to talk yourself into it.

welder then bender..

and sell the trucks you dont need to finish the ones that you care about.

to many irons in the fire is a nasty habit to have...:doah:

I got my stuff in a odd order.

-- Torch's

-- Chop Saw

-- Lincoln 175HD Welder (Flux For quiet some time)

-- Press

-- Gas Setup For Welder

-- Plasma (110/220)

-- Bender (1 3/4 240* )

-- Band Saw....

-- Next Up is a Notcher , and a MillerMatic 252....

-- Also Soon Lathe , and Bridgeport

Midwestern- I don't think that's odd at all. You can do just about anything with metal using a torch. Great first choice

well i was looking at buying this bender http://www.vansantent.com/model_3_bender.htm then i met up with a guy i know and ended up buying a jacobs bumper and a warn 8k rebuilt winch for 200. I figure ill get most of my tools come the first if something else doesnt go thru but at minium im going for the bender.

I like my Pro Tools. The degree ring to me is a better design.
