Took the Blazer out to test the front axle and moved the transfer case shifter now it won't move

Start backing up, push in the clutch as soon as you start, shift the T case while its rolling.
If its an auto, reverse, neutral, shift while rolling.

If not, try it going forward.

It's an auto

T-case will bind on an auto just the same. Put the tranny in the opposite direction you were originally going, start the truck rolling, kick the tranny into neutral and then shift the T-case.

If you were going forward, start going in reverse. Should be a simple case of driveline bind.

It grinds when I try to go to park

Otherwise nothing

OK, that means that your transfer case is in neutral. In that case, its not a driveline bind.
You will have to turn the engine off to go to park, but the problem is in the shifter of the transfer case sounds like.

I am assuming that everything else is hooked up. If your rear driveshaft is not hooked up, then you may have to do most of your shifting while the engine is off. Because once you go to two wheel drive in any transmission gear other than park, you will not be able to shift until the engine is stopped.

It may be stuck in neutral. Shut it off and put the tcase in the desired gear the the trans in park. Then recrank and go for it.

It may be stuck in neutral but that ain't working either

OH Crap!!
I completely misread the first post.
I thought the shifter was stuck..........

Chock the wheels, put the transfer case in 4wd, turn off the engine and put the transmission into park.

Now crawl under and try to turn the drive shafts. If they both turn together, then the transfer case has come disconnected from the transmission, or the tranny is bad.
Wait, that won't work, you would have to jack up both ends to try that......

Are both driveshafts hooked up?

Yes both shafts

Chief, a guy I have been waiting for just drove up and I have to go with him to help with a problem.
I'll check back later.
Sorry about that.

The grinding in park means that there is no load on the auto tranny. Somehow the t-case is not engaging, or if you only have the front driveshaft, the hubs are not locking.

Transmission has been rebuilt
It's new

OK, both shafts, then check the T-case linkage. BE SURE TO CHOCK THE WHEELS!! Park will not hold anything right now.

Gotta go.

$60 for a tow home and I can't move it :doah:

Figured it out....the keeper pin sheared on the rear transfer case linkage and it fell out...can't believe I didn't see that before I called the tow service.

But another problem now...I cannot unlock the drivers side manual hub....:doah::doah::doah::doah::doah:

Dang dude wish I had seen this earlier 203s have a variety of shifting issues. Always look at your shifters first in a 203. Your running 30w motor oil in there right?

The hub is more than likely a completely seperate problem. Just pull it apart its easy to do so

I put a washer and a cotter pin to hold it on, but the other linkage has a funky looking keeper...I'd feel better if it had the real keeper on it...I don't trust the cotter pin not to shear...you have to push and pull pretty hard on the transfer case shifter
