IIRC, that variant never went into production. I think the stress on the back end was too great -- and the exhaust from the rockets meant that the cab had to be hardened and such, and in the end, the crew had to disembark from the truck to fire.

I seem to recall a statistic that said in the first Gulf War, HMMWV's with TOW's killed more Iraqi tanks than the M-1's did :eek1: ... and obviously at lower cost, higher mobility, and greater ease of insertion.

(I can't believe I just said "ease of insertion"...)

The other cool thing about it (as shown in the video) is that it never runs out of missles.
 
More wasted monies. Use what we have instead of developing new stuff. USMC, 230 years of tradition unhampered by progress.
 
when are they going to start stocking those in the local hummer dealership? i wana take a test drive :-)
 
Just buy a 6x6 ex military unit off ebay. I assure you. You CAN get through traffic with that. We drove one through a 6 car road block ! No problem. Of corse you are motovated to move fast with 20 drug lords with automatic weapons firing at you. They could push over a house in hi range. Ask me how I know :D

I think it would be kinda interesting to just have the setup, the look, mount some dummy missles on the roof and drive to work with them.
