Much easier way to prime your diesel FI pump
If you have the square fuel filter, remove the output hose going to the FI pump. Use another short length of hose, place one end on the output of the fuel filter and the other end of hose in clear 1 gallon container. (you need an air compressor for this next part) Take your air compressor and using an "air blow gun" and a common cap for a spray can (spray paint, carb cleaner, brake cleaner), with a hole in the middle of the cap and some duct take, place it over you fuel filler neck hole (you know where you fill your tank up with expensive diesel) and pressurize your tank with compressed air. **Safety**, wear goggles, avert your eyes!!! If you do this and remove the cap right afterwards, diesel fuel will come out your filler neck into your face. Common sense applies, compress a couple of short blasts, you will hear bubbling in your tank, you have to hold the spray cap onto your filler neck until the pressure dissipates. Then go up to the front of your vehicle (if you are doing this alone) and check your clear container for fuel in it. Repeat as necessary. Now is a good time to check your life pump. You can do this by leaving the set up as is from the fuel filter (empty out clear container so there is nothing in it) to the container, crank the engine over for 10 or 15 seconds. You should be getting fuel!
The quicker way to bleed your injectors is to crack all of them at the same time couple of turns, and turn engine over until you have fuel coming from all of them. Tighten them all back up. Much quicker and kills the battery/ies much less compared to doing it one injector at a time.
If your blazer is constantly getting air locked, you may have an older style mechanical lift pump that will allow the fuel to drain back to the tank with gravity, newer lift pumps have a check valve that don't allow reverse flow.
