improving comfort off road.

on that train of thought, wouldnt bigger shocks absorb more of the hits than leaf springs? i know the billys are already on there but if we're working on suspension some tuneable shocks would be the way to soften the bigger hits.

And what is annoying her? Is it the overall ride and experience, the washboard/small size rock fields, or just the big hits?

I too have the PRP high backs in the 2 inch wider version on PRP sliding mounts and they are mounted to the cage. I put in 5 point harnesses from RCI in 3" wide belt with the manual lever type buckle. I do have greaseable bushings and new body mounts.

Wifey who is 5' 2" and a buck 15 always says the seats are better than most cars she has ever ridden in and comments how you aren't tired after being in them all day like you are after the same amount of time riding in a car. I have had them for 6 years now and they are holding up extremely well.

It's the washboard/small size rock fields. The big hits aren't pleasant, but not the main source of the trouble.

My concern with PRP is that since I'm absolutely going to be getting a reclinable seat, their reclining ones have smaller bolsters on the hips/shoulders than the Corbeau. I'm currently leaning toward the LG1 and CR1 , but I need to go down to the summit store and sit in a few to try them out.

Does anyone know, definitively, if the seat heater and air lumbar support can be installed on the same seat? I'm big on lumbar support, she's big on seat heaters. So, if not, I'd just get the lumbar and she'd get the seat heater - no big deal. Just curious.

In my experience, it's the high frequency vibrations that get to you the most.

Seems like they make you tense up which wears you out quick. Basically trying to hold yourself together with your muscles.

Yes, I think you're right. And, while I'm sure that going to a better suspension would also help in this regard, I'm inclined to think that most of this problem would be resolved with quality seats that hold us (her) in place, so she doesn't have to use her muscles to keep herself from bouncing all over the place.

Check yer pm's... :deal: :haha:

No sir, check yers.:thumb:

I find the small stuff goes away above 55mph.

Is that called skimming?:D

Sounds to me like you need to 4wd a Mercedes CLK 63 AMG.:D

I love the seats in my AMG, but they would be lousy in the K5...... way too firm

The heated and ventilated part would be nice, and the dynamically actuated side bolsters could be fun on side hill situations. But by the time you add all the compressors, wiring harnesses and sensors to make it work you could have bought the best Mastercraft seats on the planet with every option you wanted (heaters, recline, etc)
