In dash DVD for 03+ GM?

Does anyone have one installed? I have an 04 Silverado crew cab and my CD player took a dump on me a few weeks ago. I've thought about getting another factory head unit but if I'm going to take this one out I may as well put something in there that I want and will be happy with. FYI, it doesn't have OnStar, XM, or the Bose system. Just a cd/tape with 4 speakers (one in each door).

I really want an in dash DVD and REALLY want one with GPS in it as well. I've looked around for a while and the dealership said I'd need a 1.5 DIN unit. I could make a 1 DIN work but I've read that the ones with the slide out screen may not work on my truck because the top of the dash hangs over the radio too far and wouldn't allow the screen to pop up in any desired postion. And a 2 DIN would be to big and I really don't want to cut my dash.

Does anyone have an aftermarket in dash DVD? If so, can you send me a pic so I can get some ideas? Not being able to play cd's sucks and you found out quick there is hardly ever anything good to listen to on the radio. Thanks y'all!

A 2 din will fit. I have a Pioneer AVH-4000DVD in my 04 ext. cab and I only had to cut a little out of the back dash support. I can get some pics tomorrow.

That looks great in there, thanks man! I was actually just looking at the PIONEER AVIC-F700BT which looks almost identical to yours. I may have to pursuade "Santa" into making sure there's one under the tree this year.

look into the kenwoods, they run the garmin nav, so all you have to do is down load new maps at no cost. Most nav units require you to buy updated cd's which run 1-200 bucks

This isn't mine but best I could do in a pinch. The only difference b/t this one and mine is the hvac controls. Mine has the slides in the middle where this one has the knobs. Also, this looks like the 6 disc changer whereas mine is just the cd/tape deck. Other than that they are the same. I'll see if I can find one that looks just like mine.

99-02 trucks have a smaller dash opening 1.5 din and the radio itself is a little different. The gauge cluster and some other interior items are different in '03 and up trucks.
