Long list but your thoughts would be appreciated

I am looking for your vast knowledge and experience in selling a K5 Blazer

I am considering selling my Blazer when I return from IRAQ what should I be looking at asking for it....

OLD PICTURES before all the new stuff was installed are in my gallery.

1973 Chevy Blazer

NO SMOG

I bought this truck last year from the owner of the company that makes custom mufflers (Coffin Mufflers). He originally bought it for his son.
He lifted the Blazer and put the NEW 44” boggers on it, rebuilt the transmission and transfer case. He sold it to me because his son kept getting in trouble with it.

I bought it and in the next 6 months built it up to what you have listed below, everything listed below except for the engine is NEW with less than 200 miles on it unless otherwise noted.

I finished installing the axles and everything else on it 2 weeks before shipping out to Iraq for the second time.
I even have a few boxes of NEW stuff I have not yet installed.

This is not a show truck this truck was made to play.

BODY

NO RUST
NO dents on body straight and clean
Drivers door has dent from when I bought it previous owner backed a delivery truck into it ( I have a replacement door left for Iraq before I could swap it out)

the D60 has been sandblasted and POR15'd with top coat. Maybe has 200 Miles on it since rebuilt and installed.
Also, the axle shafts are not in it at the moment, the axle tubes and backs of the spindles are capped to keep dirt out.

I was planning to install the axle and drive it to a shop to have the front gears done, but after I installed it I was sent to Iraq and haven’t gotten new gears and locker put in it yet. All it needs is gears, locker and then the axles put back in.

I am sure I am missing some things but that is the meat and patatoes of the Blazer.

This is a for sale ad and belongs in the for sale forum. You could add "checking interest" to the title...

I didn't see the part where you needed advice, so it's being moved to For Sale.

I would hate to see a guy sell his rig after all that work done to it. :( I wish I could help with price, maybe 8-10K to the right buyer? I also wish it was in my driveway next to mine that needs most of the mods you have already done. Why are you selling it? Anyways, ttt

When I get back from Iraq I am going straight to the Drill Field and will not have time over the next 3 years to use it and i would hate to see it sitting for the next three years when someone could be using it for what it was made for.........:(

I can always get another one..........

There's no two ways about it.... It's worth what you think it's worth.

So, what do YOU think it's worth?

I wouldn't let it go for less than 6 grand.

You really ought to just stick it in storage. You'd still come out ahead even with the monthly storage fee over 3 years. You have put an awful lot of effort into it. I bet 3 years from now you'll be glad you hung onto it.

my 2 cents.

Nobody has any thoughts on what it's worth?
I think its worth keeping... If you have no other reason than lack of use for 3 years, prep it for long term storage and keep it.

FOR whats it worth ( another 2 cents) keep it !! I bought my K5 when I got back and I'm sure you don't want anymore regrets! trust strangers, TUNA

REGRETS! who said anything about regrets:confused: ? I have no regrets about anything in my life....I love tinckering on things for me that is more fun sometimes than the actual use of a finished project....hahaha ask my wife i will spend a year building something to the best I can with the best of everything and then sell it get something else and do it all over again:haha:

She hates it but it keeps me busy, my sandrail, my classic cars, my jet ski's, my motorcycles, my blazer, my boat.....the list goes on and on of the things I have bought built used and sold just to do it all over again.

I would raither sell it and get something later and start fresh.....so if you have an idea of what this is worth give me some hints I am thinking of listing it for $8000 I figure I have that much in parts not including the actual blazer itself.
