Going to replace the fuel pump on my 1990 suburban. I have heard that many upgrade to a 1996 silverado fuel pump because they have more flow and are capable of more psi. I plan on doing some future upgrades where the additional flow and psi may come in handy. I know i will need to adjust fuel pressure accordingly and i plan to install an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and adjust to 13psi after pump replacement. Any opinions on what is the best /most reliable brand? Ac delco , bosch, delphi, denso, walbro, ect... opinions and experiences appreciated. Thanks mike

I buy AC Delco. Genuine GM all the way. Have not done one twice yet.

A year or two ago I put a Bosch pump in my Blazer. Bosch used to be a really good brand but the plug on the pigtail that came with it fit so loosely that I had to pull the tank a second time and splice the wires. :surepal:

I had a Delco 381 fail on my 2 door tahoe which is a stock application. I run the same pump on the crawler and I carry a spare, the other truck has a walbro.

You don't need an adjustable regulator when you swap the pump to a higher PSI replacement, if that is what you meant.

Delco EP381 is a pretty standard swap anymore to get more pressure. If buying Delco shy away from anyone except name brand retailers. There are a lot of fake parts out there, I've had a "Delco" pump fail, but I suspect it was a fake.

Well looks like ac delco is the general concensus. I was trying to decide between delco and walbro i was leaning walbro because they are american made and i try and spend here when its an option but you guys have swayed me i will probably go delco. Thanks for the replys. Funny thing delco is most likley the best or at least one of the best options and it has the worst warranty lol.

i always got great service out of my walbro.. still going strong...

Yeah, I wouldn't discount Walbro either. I haven't heard much bad about them at all. Don't think I'd worry about running one.

they had one little stretch a while back where there where some complaints, but I've had one in Mutt for about a decade now....
