Does anyone have any pics of an inboard shock set up like the diy4x sells. I'm looking to see how much clearance between axle and mount. Also anyone know if there is room to run an axletruss

No pics, but a recommendation.

Everyone that I have talked to told me not to inboard my shocks... You lose alot of the shocks dampening when you mount them at an angle to the direction of travel.

It was my original plan but after so many people told me not to, I opted to run them in the stock location.

I am assuming from your username that you have a burb... You probably want as much shock dampening as you can get on the rear... :D

To get the most out of you shocks, the best way to mount them is straight up and down.

I agree that you lose damping with the shocks mounted at an angle, but there is really no other way to get a long travel shock under the back of these trucks without cutting a hole in the floor - and on the furthest outboard position of the DIY4X mount, the inboard angle isn't much more than the fore/aft angles stock. I also use Rancho 9000s so I can turn up the damping to compensate (the shocks in the pic are temporary).

Here is my setup. It's tough to get it all in the picture with the truck on the ground. There is no way the axle will ever contact the DIY4X mount. You will need new lower shock mounts too. DIY4X has them, but I used these from RuffStuff.

Yeah I do have a Burb. The reason I'm asking about inboard is cuz my shock mount broke and would rather have a different mount other than the frame to keep it from cracking again. What are my options here.

I made my own upper bar. Traced the area of where the body mount sits, cut some 1/4 in plates, then added a 1 3/4 in tube between the 2, then tack welded into place. I have heard some trash talk about doin it. It did feel a little loose in the rear after ward, So i added a set of the upper mounts more outward to the frame, and im diggin it, 12in travel bilstein 5150's havent bottomed either way. Time and money ahead to get a kit from DIY, and mass adjustability with their kit. The body mount as a reference may not work for all due to my rear axle is moved backward 3 in.

I would inboard them. I put new shocks on my burb and first trip out the leafs got into both of my rear shocks:doah:to say the least I was not a happy camper the next day. So now I need two new rear shocks, but before that I'm going to inboard them so I don't run into the same problem.
