Looking for some information...
I pulled the rear inner wheel housings from my '80 GMC Jimmy to do rust repair on the cargo floor around them and to the housings themselves. I have the driver's side repairs done and am getting ready to reinstall that side. When I pulled them out, I noticed a gray colored sealant that was between the side of the bolted flange of the housings and the inner wall of the K5 bed (i.e., not the standard seam sealant).
My question is what would be an equivalent sealant that I can use for the reinstallation? I've spent a pretty significant amount of time repairing rot in this rig and want to make sure that I take all the steps that I can to delay it coming back.
Thanks!
