Posted this in the injection section but got no responses so gonna try again here.

I have a 454 vortec from a 1997 c3500 in my k5. Tuned and made standalone by @Team208Motorsports. Recently been getting a code P0113 (high input from Air intake temperature sensor). Everything checks out good though.

Upon running Torque Pro the ecu is reading a constant temp of -40f (from the intake sensor). Ambient temp is around 60 outside. I also noticed that it is reading the speed as being over 50mph yet i was only at an idle (less then 10mph).

Not sure where to go next with this. Not sure if the two are related or not. Help please!!

I am the first to admit I know very little about electronic fuel injection...but my mind says possible bad grounds ?
check frame to engine...frame to cab ground straps?
grounds at ECU ?

I once had a bad connection on my Dodge CTD near the batteries...truck just shut down and no restart.. found it by luck shaking wires etc..

good luck !

I would suspect Torque Pro not reading/handling data correctly. It's done some goofy stuff on my Suzuki as well...

Ok. Got code p0113 solved. Ended up that the pins in the plug were not making contact when plugged into the sensor. Fixed that and getting an accurate reading now. Not sure about the speed reading as i havent had it out again yet.

Torque pro has many good ratings and i have had no issues with it. What software do you recommend instead?

I use torque pro with my DD S10 and the data is accurate since it's read right from the ALDL.

Just so you know, typically abnormally low temp values are an indication of an open circuit, which you proved by the poor connection.

As far as your vehicle speed value goes, some more info would help. What are you using for a speed sensor input? Stock VSS sensor in the t-case (assuming 90-91 241 or 205) or signal generator off of a mechanical speedo cable?

The 454 setup as a standalone harness, does not need a VSS input to run correctly. It would only need it for the trans if you were using a stock 4L80e with the L29. I'm not sure what trans you are running though.

Well, it is all relevant now. I had the stock 4l80e that came mated to the 454 originally. Today the pump took a shit. Wasnt even wheeling, just cruising up a dirt road at 20mph or so when suddenly without warning it started to slip. Within seconds i lost all drive and reverse too. Fluid full. Cracked cooler lines with it running and nothing. No warnings, no signs, no symptoms. Just drained the fluid now at the shop and very metallic, no chunks but very sparkly.

Im so sick of automatics. I have an sm465 kicking around. Time to figure out how to make it work with the 454.

Feeling quite depressed, frustrated, aggravated, blah blah blah.
