Not GM but I believe a version of this pump was used by GM at some point. We have a case backhoe with a stanadyne roosa master injection pump that has gone out. We have fuel to the pump but no matter what we do we can't get any to come out. Looking around its $500 or so minimum for a rebuild. Has anyone rebuilt one? Just wondering what the difficulty is compared to rebuilding other things like carbs and such or if it really does just need to go to a shop.

I heard it's doable but have never done it myself.
I have now about a dozen of used ones I can practice with and I will be soon, so I could let you know.
But if you are in a hurry, there is a guy that does a great job for less, I believe around $300.
TRustyK5 knows him maybe he will chime in.

Try Tim at www.accuratediesel.com

It won't be listed on the site, but he rebuilds the Stanadyne/Roosa pumps for the 6.2, 6.5, 6.9 and 7.3 engines. If your pump is similar I don't see him having a problem doing it. i had great service at a very reasonable price when I had my 6.2 pump rebuilt.

Thanks guys. 300 sounds much better and much more worth it. Although iceman if it turns out its not to bad and we havent had anything done yet i may tackle it myself based on what you find. From what I've seen in some google searches I believe the only difference may be the ports for the lines to each cylinder, they appear to be in a different configuration but that is probably due to the different number of cylinders (backhoe is a 4 cylinder) and not really an actual inner workings difference hopefully.

Accurate diesel does a great job and can do all sorts of pump voodoo for what ever type of engine is in your truck or in your case equipment.
