Injector Harness?

I just got back home from working on my buddies 90 K5, it was stumbling bad and dumping fuel it would barely stay running. I inspected the EGR and vacuum lines and it just had a recent tune up and new fuel pump/filter. It turns out 3 of the wires going to the injectors were melted together. I got them separated and put some elec tape on the bare wires, the wires are brittle and probably wont last much longer. Is there anything anyone is doing to fix this besides swapping out the entire engine harness?

Depends on where the damage is. If you can isolate it down to just the injectors then all you have to do is replace that section
