I just picked up some injectors from a cash for clunkers truck at my local junkyard. The engine was internally destroyed with some chemical, forget the name. Will the injectors still be ok? Its from an 87 tbi.

should be, as I recall the procedure for destroying the engine was to drain the oil and pour in 'liquid glass' instead and run it til it turned off.

total annihilation of the engine, and everything in the oiling system. DAM....fookers.

Injectors will be as good as they were before the murder. I had to kill a two door Tahoe yesterday.

Yup thats exactly it down to a T, last week or so I got to do a Ford Explore. :D

So nobody wants to know about the 90 3/4 454/400 burb that I had to render useless?

I was so pissed when the local news showed the local GMC dealer destroying a prefectly good TBI truck. Us carb guys could have swapped those motors into our trucks to make them more efficient.

But the price of engines that still are rebuildable it going to go way up. :(

If there is any good news, it is that there are going to be a lot more usable transmissions, t-cases, axles, and even TBI systems available - just no long blocks.
