Is where I got u-bolts, nuts and washers today for the rear on my '75 Highboy.

Then wow! My jaw hit the floor when the guy gave me the ticket to pay.

After taxes, for 4 u-bolts, 8 nuts and 8 washers......... $85.37. :eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1:

Needless to say, I was feeling it while I walked out. I needed them now and couldn't wait for cheaper ones (i.e. mail or online order).

Pardon me while I go take a bath in some Massingil or Summers Eve. :doah:

I bought 8 grade 3/4"x10" u-bolts for the rear of my K5, $125. Feel better now. :D

I usually have to give about $15 ea for u-bolts from local machine shop. Inland has good prices on some stuff and not so good on their stuff but they do have alot of stuff.

Got mine at Deaver Spring while I waited. I believe they are 5/8" x 10" with tall nuts for $49.00.

I think mine were only 35 or so.

John, why were yours so much!!!??

Mostly because they were 3/4" dia, partly because of the place - J. Spring Co. (Spanish Fort end of causeway). They are the only place in town that I know for sure has grade 8 stuff.

Ahhh yea I went to a spring shop down by water street(the name slips my mind right now) but I'm not sure what grade it is.

I got a set of u-bolts at Full Throttle Suspension since they're local and it was $100!
I've picked up numerous sets from a local heavy equipment shop and although they're only $8-$10 a piece with heavy washers and tall nuts they just don't last.
I guess I get what ya' pay for.

I've bought lots of u-bolts from ITP, Superlift and another spring shop in the same town as ITP and the average price I pay is around $50 for a set.

Superlift has some good u-bolts but I couldn't wait on the shipping.
