FRont inner fenders. Who keeps them? My rig came with one and missing one. I ditched them on my old cab truck when I was diching weight but weight isn't a concern on this rig. On most 70-80s rigs when I cut fenders i trum the main fender back then beat the inner fender back and screw to the cab supports. What have ya'll done on your first gens?

I put the inners in trying to keep some strength in the front clip and have since had to cut up the back side quite alot due to rubbing.
The rear inner mount is still used but barely.

My fenders are maxed out with the inners intact, any more clearencing efforts will mandate removing the inners for good.

It comes down to the lines of the first gen fenders, keep it looking like a first gen or cut.

Keeping the inners seriously limits your clearence options due to how they mount to the fender lip and front cups, not alot of choices available for cutting.

If you've got a flexy suspension, you will rub with your current set up.

I just ditched mine this weekend. Huge space is opened up now  ! As well as shaving 7 to 10 lbs.

am thinking of slitting the rear portion of them and try to fold them back against the cab part... make sense? I might try with the one that is there presently and if it fails I will just ditch. Thanks :)

Who needs inner fenders?

It makes it so much nicer to work on. I dont really go through mud all that much so Im not too concerned about dirt.

Is that rad support welded right to the frame rails?

Is that all the tubing work or you got something going on there...? :wink1:
