I've got the front end off for an engine swap, and the inner fenders are pretty rusty. How decent are the aftermarket ones? It looks like Year One sells each side for about $30.

The alternative would be to sandblast and powdercoat. That wouldn't be as inexpensive, but if the aftermarket ones are bad it's certainly an option. what is everyone else doing?

check your local auto body supply shops. same basic prices as mail order.

and skip the powder coat if you ask me. 7/8 of the stuff these days dont hold. just use some good old rust bullet/por 15/rust shield. or even rubberized under coat that dryes . i have even seen guys use black chip gaurd ment for rocker panel protection.

I had mine powdercoated. I'm glad I did, but I'm still going to bed line coat the underside, keep it from getting chipped up.
