You guys are probably getting tired of me, but I’m halfway restoring my k5 and need some help along the way...

My in-law has a 77 scout and somehow managed to roll it over. It rolled into a tree at about 20 mph and wrecked the roof. It had a simple roll bar that prevented further damage or injuries. His scout did not have any structure above the head like the 70’s CK series.. I have an 84 k5 and was wondering if a roll bar would be of use... additionally I want something removable if I did get anything in there.. thoughts?

Your 84 roof is reinforced like a roll bar.
It's not as strong as a full roll cage but it will prevent a complete collapse.

I have custom roll bar built for my 84 k5, its a 4 point. I can tryand get pics tomorrow. Mine is plated at top and then under body and bolted together w/ grade 8 bolts, technically it’s removable but it was built in the truck, so topper would have to come off to remove.

One big benefit , it gives place to attach stuff. Ive got my hi-lift jack attached and wake board type speakers, my interior is gutted and Line X’d
