Is it hard to install a B&M Transpak into a TH350? My tranny does not like to shift when I kick in the 4 Barrel so I think I will help it out by installing one of these kits.
Thanks
Adam

the th350 is vacuum controlled as far as when it shifts. with the throttle wide open your not getting enouhg vacuum to make it shift.

i have never put a B&M kit in and probably never will. i feel the Transgo kits works better.

There pritty simple just take your time and read the instuctions, it sounds like it would be all intense but its not. they come with a 24 hour hotline for any help you may need, never called it so i cant tell how good it is.

What exactly is the problem?

If it's just the kickdown you need to adjust your detent cable.

If it's the shift points an adjustable modulator can be picked up from B&M, Hughes, TCI, or your local transmission shop. It just has a flat head adjustable screw in it that you can adjust the shift points with by turning in for a harder later shift or out for a softer earlier shift.

The truck seems not to want to shift from 2 to 3 gear. Fluid is mint, tranny is new.

Well where did you get the new tranny? If it's a local shop take it back and have it adjusted.

How does it shift through the rest of the drive range. Is the problem only during full throttle? There are several things it could be.

Information number 6, we want information.

Ok I will give you some info on the truck and then tell you what is going on.

This is a 1985 K5 Blazer with a new tranny Th350 , engine 350 4 bolt, 600cfm edelbrock carb and a few other things are new.

When I am just driving the truck shifts real nice. But if I get on it any first to second gear is fine but once the tranny gets to the point where it should shift into 3 from second it takes a long time. In fact I have to let off from the gas to get her to shift.

It may just be the carb, or I may just be a little to anal about how it runs.

I'd take it back to the guy who built it and have him make it work right.

I would not install a B&M shift kit in any vehicle I cared about. Most auto trans guys won't either, they use TransGo kits.

Well just driving it around it shifts nice , that normal sounding .
When you get on it , it won't go into 3rd until you let off the gas a bit , thats normal sounding also . In all my Chevs ( Chevelles , lagunas , montes , truck ) it is/was like that :k5: :k5:

You want it to stop...........disconnect the kickdown cable and get a ratchet shifter , kick it down or prevent an upshift on your own :)
