I don't think it amounts to a hill of beans in actual use which way the grease fitting faces as far as strength--I've had u-joints with them installed both ways and have never had one break, despite doing a lot of burnouts and second gear chirps in some of my big block powered vehicles, and I often bought "cheap" U-joints like Amgauge and Valuecraft Auto Zone ones..
In my years of experience of selling auto parts I cant say I ever had a customer break one either..I suppose extreme off roading abuse may break an axle u-joint,but ones on drive shafts usually only fail after they lose all the needle bearings and wear the "cross" out enough to eat away at the cups and let it pull free..
I found it strange the Valucraft U-joints have a 2 year limited lifetime warranty--but the wheel cylinders I bought at the Zone in the same brand had only a 90 day warranty!..(the one I replaced was a Valucraft, only about 2 years old and had 5000 miles before it began leaking )...they used to be "unlimited lifetime",I guess so many failed early they decided to reduce the warranty..
