ok so it says in the instructions for the tach to hook up the green wire to the coil or tach signal on the computer. in my case the computer in my 87 k10 but i don't have a wiring diagram for my truck. so if anyone knows where to mount the wire or can give me a wiring diagram it'd help alot.

'87 still big cap distributor IIRC. If so, then I guess your tach lead is the same as it has always been, drivers side of the distributor cap, read the writing where the coil wire is hooked up, you'll see the tach terminal marked.

If it's remote coil, the wire is a white one off of one of the coil connectors.

i believe it has the remote coil, but there are two white wires coming off of this so which one do i put it on

theres a white wire coming from the distributor cap to the coil, then one leaving the coil from a different plug. should i use the one leaving the coil(has connector on it but not hooked to anything)?

interesting... I wonder if you put a volt meter on it... with key off.. then turn key on.... read voltage then start truck and see what the voltage does...
im no expert on this end but one would think it is sending a voltage to the gauge that gets the gauge moving.. the more voltage the higher the reading???

Single white unused will be tach. Should have a gray connector on the coil that it comes from.
