Installing doors with power windows on a truck that came with manual windows. What do I need to do?

Got an '82 Chevy that has a set of junk doors on it.

Found some nice doors on Craigslist for a good deal but the come with power windows.

Is it as easy as putting in two switches, two relays and giving each relay a hot connection and grounds?

Do you have power door locks? I want to think that PDL/PW are part of the "convenience center", if that is there, I guess it would be pretty easy to run the wiring.

Almost positive however that GM did not run the wiring for PW/PDL to the pillars (which is where the connectors are, at least on the passenger side) from wherever they are powered, either fuse panel or convenience center, if the truck did not have that option from the factory.

I just pulled the PW harness out of my passenger door, I should probably remove the wiring that is inside the cab as well...

The doors are coming off of an '85 SWB truck, not sure if it's a K or C series.

Not sure if it had power locks or not. It has a exterior tumbler/ key lock and I'm more interesting in using that.

If it has power locks I'm not sure how I would even go about hooking those up.

There's gotta be some wires dangling out of a hole in the door on the door jam where the hinges bolt up.

I'll take some pics of the wiring later on tonight and post them up and see what everyone says.

Let me correct my statement...I didn't finish the statement earlier (edited now)...if the truck wasn't optioned with PW and/or PDL, I don't think the wiring is in the cab portion. Even though the door PW/PDL wire harnesses are separate of the cab ones, the cab harnesses were not "universal", wired for every possible option.

There is an underdash harness specific to power windows and door locks. You either need that harness, or create your own, or swap your crank window mechanisms into the new doors.

I understand that there aren't any provisions for power windows or locks in my truck.

I'm totally fine with building my own harness to make the windows work. Not too concerned with the power locks at this point unless they are super easy to get working.

Does anyone know if a thread on here where someone has done this previously?

Does anyone know which wires are the hot and ground wires?

First two pics are the driver's side door.

Second two pics are the passenger side door.

Link in my signature will provide the wiring diagrams. Not sure if its ever been documented here.

I appreciate power door locks, and they are pretty easy to install. Also allows install of a remote door opener if that interests you.

Wiring diagrams are the most confusing thing in the world to me lol... I've never understood how to read them.

I did find this though (pic attached). This could be pretty useful for me.

I need to figure out which wire is the 12v power supply wire. Which one(s) are grounds and how to hook all of those and the tan/grey wire up to a relay.

I couldn't read diagrams before, but I had to keep at it until I did. When things like reversing polarity happen (such as pw and pdl) or voltage based on ignition cylinder position are in play, I haven't found an easier method than using the wiring diagrams. Heck, even the drivers door pw/pdl switches confuse me. But if the diagram says wire 480 goes to pin B, thats what I do :)

Find the page with the door wiring, find the switches, and trace each wire from the switches back on the diagram. All the circuits are pretty simple, its just the fact that wiring diagrams usually consist of 10's of circuits per page.
