I have my rear leafs off and fixing to install the TC leafs, the instructions say there is a front/back offset to the leaf but when I measure end to centerpin it comes out the same from either end....am I wrong or the instructions?

Is the centerpin offset to one end versus the other or in the middle?

(trying to install these now)

You'll be able to tell with the way they arc. The back of the spring will arc up higher than the front, so if you hold one in place and it looks like the spring pad is pointing towards the back then they need flipped around. You'll be able to see the difference.

If the springs have shims on them, point the narrow end to the front as the wider points back in order to shim the pinion up to the transfercase.

springpad?

theres no shims on these from the mfg, just trying to figure out if theres a front and back to the rear leafs, like if the centerpin isnt in the middle. I measure and its in the middle so to me there is no front back. However the instructions say to make sure to measure and put the longest end to the back....confused

I just went out and measured mine and there is roughly only an inch difference from the pin to each eye. So you might want to double check your measurement.

Then measure from the top side of the springs center pin to the center of the spring eye at the bushing end. Whichever is the shorter length, install that eye to the forward spring hanger.

Thanks for measuring for me I appreciate it, but I measured again at least 10 times, even measured the factory and there is no difference, maybe they changed that for 89-91 I dunno.

no difference, I measured and tried the leaf on the truck both ways, either time the front hanger bolt lined up and pin in perch with no bump or positioning either way. Maybe thats for 56" I dunno, mine are 52"

thanks guys, one is on now anyway :thumb:

Ya I agree its really weird, had a buddy come over and he measured the other side, both the TC and stock and they too were even and centerpin right in the middle....odd.

The shackles look normal and centerpins in the perches with no trouble so I assume all is good.
