before i unbolt the axle from the springs does anyone know if the center pins on the stock 52" rear springs are long enough? if not where can i get longer ones? also i heard about using allen head bolts instead, anyone know what size i would need if i were to do that instead?

You need a 3/8" allen head bolt. The length depends on the thickness of your spring pac with shim. I buy my allen head bolts at Lowes.

My shim set came with (longer) bolts and a short piece of tube with the same OD as the bolt head. Pretty clever way to make a "deep head bolt".
Tip; tape the shim to the spring pack while you wrestle the axle to line-up the hole.:D
