Thanks for making my insurance so high, that, this time next year....
I'll have a buggy.

So long, and thanks for all the "coverage"... :flipoff11:

So what is their reason?
and how much more?
All insurance rates went up a bit because of inflation, but did yours go up much more or did you have any claims?

do you have a multi vehicle policy? Combine it with your house? Honestly for basic coverage, doesn't cover the rig in a wreck but it gets towed everywhere, is something like 5 bucks a month for me.

When I had multiple cars insured, It was normal price for the main one, but only about $15 a month for the second one.

It's $89/month to insure the K5...

My driving record ain't awesome, either.
But, 3 NOT AT FAULT accidents, shouldn't make it that high, imo.

My F-250 is $45/ month....

Why such a vast difference!?

Which one is the primary?
when you have multiple vehicles, it's smart to pick the smallest oldest vehicle to be your primary as the rest are usually a fraction.
I have my 89 jetta as my primary and all my bigger cars are just back up.
I pay $290 for 3 vehicles for 6 months.
2 primaries, one me and one my wife and the extra suburban.
If I had 3 cars it would cost me less, but my wife's car is in her name so I can't claim it's a secondary car.
I had at one time 5 cars and it only cost another $75 for 6 months.

My '94 dodge with the absolute most basic to be legal coverage was about $40 a month. We recently moved and due to our new zip code it jumped up to almost $60 a month.

I'm not 100% bashing insurance like some people as I do see the need if something major happened. A guy could easily rack up a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of vehicle replacement, medical and property damage in a bad accident which is more than likely much more than you'll ever pay in premiums even over your lifetime so in that situation it's well worth it. That being said I'm shopping around as I don't see a $20 jump on a $40 premium being fair just because our zip code changed a few miles away from our old one.

I have to shell out 65 bucks every month to insure my '82 K2500 and a '95 Ford Contour--which usually sit in the garage and yard all month ,rarely get driven more than 50 miles a month (mostly because after paying for insurance and plates, inspections, etc,I have no cash for GAS to go anywhere in them.)...............................................................................................I use my mothers '93 Caravan most of the time to do errands and local trips, even use it instead of my truck to haul a garden tractor around,to save on gas,and any other chores it can do ,instead of paying 4+ bucks a gallon for diesel fuel.................................................................................................Both of our insurance bills went up the 1st of this year, like EVERY year, without fail, this time about 5 bucks....not a lot,but enough to piss us both off, when they dont get used much, and we have never had any accidents or claims against us --the reason for the increase we got from Met Life,is the area we live in had a higher accident and theft/vandalism rate increase since the year before--and they say MA had also raised the rates, which I think is a lie, after reading in the paper it was LOWERED more, not raised, compared to last year!.................................................................................................After spending a half hour pressing buttons trying to get a real human on the dam phone, they did nothing but offer sympathy for the rate increase--I told the rep how my vehicles SIT more than they get driven due to being unemployed, and I am seriously thinking of switching to Allstate ,or other companies that give you 50 bucks back after 6 months of no claims,or that will allow you to suspend coverage on rarely used vehicles or pay by mileage, which would be a better deal for me...I have the highest possible safe driver rating too............................................................................................................................................................................................................Though I know 65 bucks is pocket change for most working folks--its a BIG amount to have to scrape up every month when your unable to get or keep a job ,especially when it does nothing for YOU or the vehicle--all it does is keep them "legal"......half the reason our rates went up is because of so many forigeners riding around without insurance or legit plates, and WE have to pay for an "uninsured motorists"clause on every policy.....I'm ready to become one myself....its not fair they dont have to pay, because WE already have to provide "coverage" for those who feel insurance isn't a must.........my vehicles dont get the maintenence or repairs they deserve either, after wasting my money on the insurance and registration costs..

Where you all get your cheap insurance?

I pay $1500 a year for one vehicle (DD) Full coverage

and no insurances cover wheeling rigs or cars drag raced on a track in Mass

I pay $200 a month for three vehicles, two with full coverage, a travel trailer with full coverage, and umbrella coverage over them and the house. Have maximum limits in the coverage also 250,000, 500,000, 100,000 with a million umbrella. Its through Farmers.

I don't know about other states, but here in CA everytime I moved the insurance rates changed, and the last time I am happy to say it dropped 25%:waytogo:
I still shop around every year when it's close to my renewal and I still can't find cheaper than Allstate for my needs.
The agency I am with "Seabreeze" is in L.A. and I like their customer service and they all know me by name now after 6 years.

That's rough. I'd look over your policy and see if there is anything tacked on that you don't need. A lot of it is where you live, and driving record, but a lot of people forget that credit history, age, gender, and a lot of other factors pay a part. On my insurance (USAA) the Blazer is only 15 bucks a month cause its not a daily driver, but with the multi-vehicle discount that gets applied to that and the Corvette, they actually end up paying me to keep it on the policy in an odd twist of finances. I'm not going to complain.

A lot of people keep full coverage on vehicles when it doesn't make sense to do so. Many of these trucks don't have the book value that would justify full coverage rates plus deductible if it were wrecked, unless you're paying a really low rate. Especially if your claim rate is high or you have a less than stellar driving record, dropping full coverage can save some major coin.

I'm 53,never totaled a vehicle of my own,and have been lucky not to have one of the millions of soccer moms on cell phones tailgating me plow into me (yet!)--so being a step 9 "safe driver",I get the lowest rates--last "accident" I had was back around 1990 ,when I backed into a parked car while plowing one snowy day,a white Olds that some jerk parked right in the way, that was dam near invisible!--..I have had only 2 "collisions" with other vehicles, neither time was it my fault though...they hit ME!...............................................................................IF you have any DWI convictions or mutiple traffic tickets and or accidents, they can easily push your rates up over a grand per vehicle,IF you can find a company that'll sell you any insurance with a poor driving record!--young drivers get the shaft too, till they can prove they are responsible drivers and several years pass, and they gain experience...........................................................................................................................................................................................................I only have "compulsory" insurance ,the bare minimum allowed to get a vehicle on the road here, but I did bump up the property damage and bodily injury limits above the bare minimum,as reccomended by my insurance agent--the compulsory limits are not enough to cover a "serious" accident, and only adds about 40 bucks to my policy...worth it,to avoid getting sued ,should the worst happen......................................................................................I know insurance is mandatory, and you need it ,but I'd be over 20,000 bucks richer right now,if I didn't have to pay almost 500 bucks per vehicle since I got a license,35 years ago...thats a lot of money to forfeit because you "might" have had an accident!....they should refund your money or roll it over to the next years bill,if you made no claims on your insurance for accidents, vandalism,or theft in my opinion...
