Who what and where do you guys and gals get insurance for 1st and 2nd gen K5s. If not too personal, how much do you pay ?

Thanks,

Cranky.

I have State Farm, full coverage because of a daily driver. I pay right at $189 every six months with a $200 deductible.

I am going through Geico on my 83 full coverage for $85 a month for 4 months then 2 months no payments. I also have a horrible driving record. The tow company my husband works for does the insurance salvage towing for them and said they are a good company that is easy to deal with and pays out very reasonably and seems fair with settlements.

If you shop around I wouldn't trust the geico online quotes. For minimum coverage I was quoted $300+ and I haven't had a ticket or accident in almost 10 years. Local state farm quotes $125...both were for 6 months of coverage. I'm 27 btw, age makes a difference if you are a male under 25.

A accelerated and i pay 300 a year with a bad driving history. its just liability though.

Since I am 59, I think the youngster clause is long ago not applicable. Thanks for the responses.

Ready for this one... I pay $1500 a year...but then again I am 21...though I don't have ANY points and that is with a good student discount as well... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Oh well, what are you going to do? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Kinda makes me won der how I can afford to do ANYTHING to my truck...And the crazy thihng is that is with it registered in Larimer County, not even in Denver...I am going to be registering it in a rural farm community soon for emissions reasons(the county I live in makes you jump through a ton of hoops to make a truck emissons leagal after I swapped in my 454

I added my 1971 C10 to my insurance for onlyt $95 a year..

I have mine insured through a company that specializes in classic cars/trucks. They are in St. Louis, MO.

I am able to insure it for REPLACEMENT VALUE at the same price as the SOB big companies want to charge.

I will post the name & number this weekend when I dig it out of my files.

Definitely worth the call.

HA! 1500 is nuttin, I've gotten quotes ranging from 350-425 per month! And that's only with liability and uninsured motorist and I have a good record, then again I'm only 18...damn these raging hormones!

one insurance co said they would insure my truck to whatever i thought its value was. they do it like a 15000 new car or whatever. i guess for people who pour tons into a hotrod.

I have progressive. No points and 6 cars. They are pretty good in my oppinion. Here is what I pay each 6 months. I am 32 and the wife is 35. I went to them when USAA was going to raise my rates due to an accident. They cut my old USAA rate in half.
'03 Super Duty Crew Cab 4X4 with the 60L Full Coverage $235
'99 Trans Am WS6 convertible Full Coverage $199
'91 2500 Suburban 4X4 Liability $123
'91 Ford T-bird Super Coupe $123
'92 Jeep YJ Liability $123
'86 K20 4X4 Liability $123

hmm, i pay 189 a month on my 4runner for liability only... sucks being 18, sad part is my k10 is about 8 bucks cheaper a month when i start driving it..

Which company is that with? Are you on your parents policy? 189 is pretty good. I was paying 106 for liability on the K5 when I was on my parents policy...

I pay $82 a month for full coverage on my 75 burb /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I pay about 800 a year covered one way (liability)with geico. I'm 23 and have a spotless record, New Hampshire sucks insurances charge you an extra 400 a year for having a 4x4. But oh well when the weather sucks I can still get out when my neighbors honda is stuck in a foot of snow /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

All 3 vehicles, 90 K5, 92 Jeep YJ, and 94 Pontiac cost us $650 a year. The insurance is through work so we get group rates.
