I hate when your intake bolts bake out and it shoots coolant all down the back of the block....
P.S. dont buy the pretty bolts..........:angry1::angry1::angry1::zombie3::zombie3::zombie3::weapon17::weapon17::weapon17:

Never had that problem even with "pretty bolts" when torqued correctly.

i did that and used medium strength lock tight. even chased the threads to make sure they where clean before i started reassembly, the back 2 on both sides of the intake back out.
i am going to use red locktight until i can get the stage 8 bolts

these are the ones that i have now

What manifold are you running?

What gaskets & did you use rtv?

summit stage 3 intake edelbrock intake gaskets and yes around the water jackets.
have the gasket nitch stuff from eddelbrock so i think ill try that this time

You should check the manifold and make sure it fits flat against the block and heads dry. If the block or heads have been decked it can cause the manifold not to seal to the heads correctly.

Thats wierd. I've never had that happen on any v-8 chebby. And i've used stock bolts and nice 12 pt. Arp stuff.

Its always the weirdest crap with my vehicles, had to lock tight the carb stud or it would back out.
check the tras/transfer case mounts on regular bases to make sure they dont back out.
header bolt used to do the same thing then i got sage 8 bolts no more backing out

Maybe it has some wierd harmonic vibration going on. Balancer spun or wrong flexplate or?? I dont know. Wierd though.

Weird is a weird word. Especially when youre buzzed and you spell it wring and have to look it up and you look at it too long.

Had to put a new balancer on about a year ago it threw the rubber seal and was spinning on itself.

Only issue I've had with small block intake bolts,is oil oozing up through the threads on the ones in the center, making little puddles..
A coating of pipe dope or thread sealant on the threads after cleaning the threads and bolt holes with brake cleaner fixes that..

last time this happened i cleaned the bolts chased the threads and used blue lock tight before reassembly.
should have bought the locking intake bolts then
