Intake/Carb advice?

Hey all, I drive a mostly stock 85 k5 blazer, with the 5.7 350 v8, and I'm looking to help it out a bit. I was advised that putting a performance air intake and carb would help, but picking one of each is a bit overwhelming, I was wondering if y'all had experience with this kinda stuff and could point me in the right direction. The carb and intake on it now are stock, and the trucks going to be a daily driver and used on sand a bit. Would an intake and carb help me out? I'm also thinking of putting new, better headers on, but I'm clueless there too. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks guys, drive safe.

Whqt year is the k5? If its not smog get a edelbrock performer or performer rpm. I like edelbrock carbs but others will chime in with what they like.
