I got a 87 k5 a while back from a friend that at had a 305 at birth but some time he put in a 350 GM crate motor. Now my intake gaskets are leaking in rear at RTV area and not sure which gaskets I should use cause don't know info on engine. I tried scrubbing # on back of motor but 2 people together could not make clear view of it. I can tell you truck is TBI,5.7 for sure with looking at #'s can make out GM 5.7 , has cast for fuel pump but solid on inside so could not put a pump and block says 088 on side. Can anyone help me out here? Also gonna need EGR valve and wanna make sure get right parts for truck. Really need to get fix ASAP!

Sounds like they used the stock tbi on top of the engine. Maybe a stock tbi gasket from 87 would work. Pics might help someone figure it out. Maybe there is a date on the intake or tbi to figure out if it is the same year engine.

yes they reused the factory 305 intake to my knowledge and should be able to read any #'s that someone needs to let me know. Just don't wanna get it a part and have wrong parts.

What I was thinking but local gm dealer wanted to give me a run around on crate motor cause they said not factory etc. Might just get gaskets from local napa. Thanks for help will let you know plan on hopefully doing it Saturday!

I 2nd what Chul.... said.

A Small Block Chevy is a Small block Chevy (305 parts almost always interchange w/350 parts). The Intakes are interchangeable and you can use either gasket (which is probably the same gasket).

Unless they modded the heads and did something weird with the intake, a stock gasket is the same from 305 to 350. Especially since they topped it with the stock intake. The heads are different internally but the intake sits on top of them the same.
