Interchangeability for 74-87 Blazers

So what can be interchanged between these years as in the way of parts Like dash's, body panels, tail gates, grilles, interior panels?

<font color=blue>The hardtops were full convertible (windsheild to the rear) from 69-75 so anything dealing with the roof isn't interchangable. They also changed the grilles a few times in the 80s. For example, you can swap a newer grille onto a full-convertible and confuse everybody (who knows blazers anyway). The interior panels should be compatible and the dashes stayed mostly the same. I've also seen a few older trucks outfited with power tailgate windows.</font color=blue>

Basically the interchange is:

'73-'80
Fenders, hood, doors (trimmed for 73-75 full top), most interior, Grilles, radiator supports, inner fenders, etc..

'81 - '91
Radiator supports, Hoods, Fenders, grilles, doors (same as previous) inner fenders, interior.

Tops will interchange from '76-'91. '73-'75 are full top.

You can change '73 - '80 to the '81-'91 front clips with some work. I am doing an article on this site for the Grille upgrade to an '89-'91. You can also change an '81-'91 to the earlier grille.

What are your specific interchange questions. I am sure some of us can answer them.

Mudzer, you didnt mention anything in regards to the tailgates. which years can be converted. Ihave a 74 K5

There's not a cross reference table but as you look at items, it'll list a range of years that the part/item fits. Example: foot pedeals, '73 all by itself, then 74-84, then 85-87 (mine's the 73-87 truck/blazer catalog).

Tailgates are the same from '73-'91. Electric or not.
