Ok guys I have a 84 K5 with a body the is in rough shape. I am replacing the body and was wondering if any of you guys knew what other years I could also go with. One that will just bolt on like the one I took off. Thank you for the help in advanced.

Alright thank you sir. This site is the best source for information on this truck I have found.

Didn't the rear passenger floor change at some point? I was thinking there's a frame hump that you have to be sure you get right. I swear I thought it was around 83, I could be way off though.

Late 70s, like 78 or 79. The nose sheetmetal changed in 80 or 81 to the flat front. The frame horns for the bumper changed along with that. So a safe range for a direct swap I picked 81-91. No fuss, no muss.

Technically you could put a 73 body on an 80s frame, but I don't know what fabbing or changes will need to be made. And I've seen Camaros and all kinds of other bodies on K5 frames so anything is possible.

cool thank you man. That clears it up very well. Hopefully Ill be able to pass along knowledge and return the favor. Its my first build so Im learning as I go. Thank you for the timely replies as well.

73-77 have the cargo area floor the same height, i.e. rear passengers must sit with their knees up to their nose.

78-91 lowered the area immediately behind the front seats so that rear passengers actually have leg room.

Now, after there may be other changes, but if they're major I'm not aware of them.
