To start off this is a fact finding question not trying to put down Interco tires.

I have a friend who has went through 3 sets of brand new tires because they are cracking.

Set 1 & 2:
43" Swamper SX's Lugs were cracking severely where the lug meets the casing.

Set 3:
42" Swamper Boggers, severe cracks circuling the rim in board and out board side walls.

All three sets combined have less than 1500 miles total. The truck hasn't even been off the pavement yet.

Anyone else experienced these problems?

interco has gone threw major changes last 2 years or so.

denman tire who use to make them in there huge tire machines went out of biussness.

so thay had to redo all there line and from what i have read thay went over sea's and then had to re certify all d.o.t. #'s and this was a huge reason why thay were on back order.

if all is true i would suspect some bad rubber compound or curing problems. seen it before in tires over the years working in tire shops.

call them up and talk with them. i have in the past with super results. :waytogo:

my 38's are 4 years old, maybe 4k miles on em. Already got some cracking on the sidewalls. But than again thats from the cold winters we usually get up here I figure, so its not a major concern atm. Until I can put my fingers thru the sidewalls Imma run em :thumb:

Thanks for the responses guys! He will be on the phone monday morning...AGAIN! Its just ridiculous the quality considering the price of these tires.

Keep us posted, I'm a few bucks away from pulling the trigger on some new meats and this may affect my decision :doah:

The tire dealer he bought them from emailed him today and told him "cracking" is normal:eek1:. The new boggers are have a crack forming about 1/2" away from the bead.

I will keep you guys posted.

he is full of crap.

and as for cracking near beads not good. . . .

like i said have him call interco direct.

I wonder if these problems are affecting all swampers or if it is only the newer sizes ?

thats bad defective tires there.

and over sea's tired these day are not cheep in price at all. us put a import tax on them all few years ago and no more cheepy tires for us.

Holy crap! I'm nervous of buying some 44" Boggers now. Think I may put this off.

My six year old 39.5" TSL's don't have cracks, and my six year old Q78-16's don't have cracks either. That is not normal. Keep us posted.

I'm getting some SSR's tomorrow. Hope they are good. They are the only ones I can find in a 16.5.

I will keep you guys in the loop. He is super disappointed, he really wanted to run the 43" SX's and they looked the best on his truck. Had to settle for the boggers after the 2nd set of SX's started cracking around the base of the lugs.

Alright guys I have an update for you all. Well....set #4 of tires were just replaced. Same problem cracking around the bead about 1/2" in from the rim. The truck has 2200 miles since completion and all 4 sets were brand new. He is now running 42" MTR's.
