I am looking for some info for a first timer to Blazer Bash. Where to stay, first time trails to run and route to take to Moab. I plan on driving my 1990 Jimmy from Saskatchewan, Canada. Any tips would be great. Thanks.

You can take a look at the Never been to Moab, what is my truck capable of thread. Right now it's kind of the same set of questions.

There are a lot of people that stay at the Moab rim campark. They have some cabins (might be full now) and good camping spots if that's what you want. Other wise there are several Hotels, I would avoid the Motel 6 for sure though.

Route, take the most direct route as you have a long drive.

If you want to take it easy I would run the Newby, Chicken Corners, and Hell's Revenge.

Maybe 1 or 2 of the guys that have come from BC will chime in on route possibilities.

Blazer Bash info

The truck is a full size 1990 Jimmy. 4" lift, 35" BFG's. I have a gas tank skid plate, VR10000 winch and tow hooks still to mount. Otherwise pretty stock. Just swapped in a new crate 350.
I am new to wheeling and am not looking to do anything difficult my first trip out. More worried about making it to Utah.
I did see the campark website. It looks like a good bet. As for a route I was leaning toward Wyoming or even Colorado.
I will checkout the never been to Moab section. I haven't yet figured out how to post pictures yet.

I would definitely go with my recommendations for trails then.

Wyoming can be far between services depending on your route. Personally I would avoid I-70 in Colorado. Horrible traffic and some pretty tough climbs. Too bad that's the route I have to take. I think you'd be better to push further west and run south through Salt Lake City.

Imho Moab valley RV is a nice place. I really liked staying in a hotel there. They had an awesome breakfast and I filled up.

The trails suggested would be good trails.

There are people usually along the route if ya have problems.

If you have access to a tow rig and a trailer, that may not be a bad idea! It would suck to break something and be stuck in a different country!

Canyon lands camp ground is a nice place
If you google moab their tour page has links for staying options :thumb:

Anyone heading up from Texas for BB15

Just seeing if anyone would want to travel up together or meet up along the way I'll be heading out on the 8th from San Angelo .
