Anybody have an idea what this is? Looks almost like something OEM, but from another model vehicle...

good luck, like mentioned they are rare. if you look at your radiator support, you have the knocks on both sides of the radiator for the air pieces that go in the support.

I have all the factory components to make one, 2 housings, an extra hose and tophat, etc.. just went a different direction...

Yup just build one from 2 air cleaners. Go a step further and get a BB lid and filter, there a couple inches taller.

Ha, I'm famous! Except (1) it's the other truck and (2) I haven't finished plumbing the ducts to actually be cold air intakes. The 73-80 have the batteries turned the other way so there's not so much room to go through the radiator support.

I've never seen a factory one that looked like the one in the original post, I think that is homebrew.

That first one was from K&N. I remember my dad getting one for his 73k30 with a 454 in it. He was running propane at 11.5:1. Bored stroked ported and headers. Useless engine with the sm465 and a camper on it. But it would go up hills.

Could be, but I could also make one that looks just like it tomorrow if I wanted to.
